After months of anticipation, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has finally announced the host country of its 74th competition, and it’s close to the Philippines — Thailand.
While the Marcos administration has been exerting efforts to attract more green power developments to the market, the sector may be dealing with some hitches as the projects are now “being processed for termination” due to the companies’ failure to meet committed timelines, the agency noted Sunday.
“THE MOMENT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR…Unveiling the ultimate destination for the 74th Miss Universe competition… Where kindness meets tradition and warm smiles welcome the world. [Earth emoji],” the pageant posted on social media as it announced the host country.
Article continues after this advertisementThis will be the fourth time that the pageant will be hosted by “The Land of Smiles,” also the home country of one of the co-owners of MUO, Anne Jakrajutatip of JKN Global Group.

With its hosting of the 2025 Miss Universe pageant, Thailand will become the Asian country to hold the international competition the most number of times.

The second time Thailand hosted the pageant was in 2005 when Natalie Glebova scored Canada’s second victory. She also settled in the country after her reign.

Last year, the Philippines’ Chelsea Manalo advanced to the Top 30 of the pageant, and became the first-ever recipient of the Miss Universe Asia title. She also topped the poll for national costume.
